TransformEdge is a Chicago-area psychotherapy and counseling practice specializing in helping individuals and couples make positive changes in order to live the life they desire.  The practice also provides workshops and presentations on mental health and emotional well-being.  We believe that true change, transformation, begins at the edge of our comfort zone.

Making positive life change is a lot like sitting on the edge of a cliff looking over the abyss.  You know that what you want is somewhere on the other side.  The path, though, is cloudy and the distance is unknown.  The desire to make a move is there but the mind is uncertain.  So we remain seated until some time later we realize that we are still perched in the same spot - looking at the same view - experiencing the same desire.  The difference now is that we have grown accustomed to sitting.  The longer we sit on the edge the more comfortable we are with the idea that our desired goal is out there and unattainable.

To make positive life change, we need to take that first step off the edge and into the cloudy abyss.  We need to get comfortable with the discomfort and unease that comes with making change.  We are here to help with that first step.

"This process of the good life is not, I am convinced, a life for the faint-hearted.  It involves the stretching and growing of becoming more and more of one's potentialities.  It involves the courage to be.  It means launching oneself fully into the stream of life."
